Local Futures

Local FuturesA Scottish Wave of Change supports a number of futures projects across Scotland.

A Govan Wave of Change has brought together a range of people and groups to address the future of Govan. They have run a number of events addressing the values of a future Govan, looked at issues of social change and wider cultural change, created plays and staged an Oratorio.

A Dundee Wave of Change draws together a cross-section of the city, engaging in conversations, events and activities which aid people imagining and creating the future. Activities have been held across the city – including a journey through Dundee’s past to think of its future and young people creating images and music of the future.

A Lochgilphead Wave of Change brings together the town and neighbouring communities of Mid-Argyll. It draws together younger and older people in inter-generational discussions, has a summer celebratory event, and involves artists, storytellers and a wide array of people imagining and creating the future.

These local projects form the notion of the three Scotlands – a Scotland of different geographies, generations and backgrounds – and bringing people together both within these communities and between them at points to engage in local and national conversations.

Dundee the Dundee Wave of Change project seeks to engage directly with Dundee’s population, encouraging and supporting them to create personal stories about their experiences, friendships and connections.

Govan the Govan Wave of Change is a community story-telling initiative. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to tell their stories, inspire their communities and build a people’s future for the area

Lochgilphead… the Lochgilphead wave of change is looking at the Scotland of the future, the stories, values and change people want to imagine and create about the future. And what we can do to make that future happen.
